Controlling your campaign is quite simple with the following features.

    Emails sent/opened and links clicked

There are regularly updated graphical reviews of your current success rate

Deliverability rate and delivery by time zone (spam)

You can automate delivery time based on recipient time zones

    Creating and importing email lists

Import your existing contacts from CSV, Mailchimp, or Mixpanel

    Split tests and A/B tests

A/B testing and a control group feature help you to choose the optimum email based on customer response

    Personalization

It’s possible to personalize most aspects of your campaign, including aesthetics and delivery options

    Reporting and Analysis

There are various useful functions for analyzing your success rates.

Engagement reports (Email open rate and CR tracking)

Customer Engagement reports let you see how your ongoing messages are performing, and even asses who’s receiving too many emails

    Segmentation

You can segment your contacts into recipient groups whatever way you’d like

    Social media tracking

The engagement report also views and assesses your social media broadcasts

    ROI analysis

A free support team can talk you through your current prospective ROI

    Integrations

The most basic Intercom plans still offer many options for integration.

    API integrations

Even those with little experience can use API to integrate third-party software

Integrations with these platforms: Ecommerce, Shopify, Magento, Bigcommerce and Woocommerce

All the above platforms are supported except Magento

    CRM Integrations

The app store has several CRM integrations, such as the well-regarded Pipedrive

    Social Media integrations

There are several major social media integrations available, like Facebook

    Apps

The app store comes preloaded with dozens of useful apps

    Plugins

Aside from API, there are also options for many more integrations to be plugged in, like ChargeBee, which helps to manage your subscriptions

    Automation

Intercom offers automation of almost every function that it provides. While some technical knowledge is certainly needed, there are also books, guides, and videos to assist those that are new to this type of programming.

    Design and Ease of Use

There are a number of design functions, although not all are easy to use.

    Drag and Drop Interface

The email builder helps those who aren’t coders to drag and drop their visuals in an intuitive manner

    Landing page creator

Creating your landing page requires a little more expertise here, although there are blog posts to help you

    Email templates

There are four default email template styles, but you can create your own as well

Sign up forms within newsletter tool (opt in-opt out process)

Form creation is a simple case of entering your criteria and can be used for inclusion in emails and newsletters

    Pricing

    Customer Service

There’s a free mobile app where you can get support 24/7 through a messenger feature. You can also email for help at team@intercom.com.

    Summary

If you’re looking to streamline your current operation and need to automate some aspects of your approach to email marking, Intercom could definitely provide support. However, you’ll need some IT expertise, and the price is quite high for what you’ll receive.

A cheaper but equally responsive service is SendX. This provides most of the same features and users benefit from even more pre-integrated apps. Plus, the starting cost is just $7.49 per month.
