If you’re looking for a tool that offers highly customizable campaigns and is easy to use, then Omnisend is the tool for you. It’s a little more expensive than other email marketing products, but it has an excellent range of apps and add-ons making it a great choice for businesses of all sizes.
What is Omnisend?
Omnisend is an all-in-one omnichannel marketing automation platform that is focused on eCommerce businesses. Their primary goal is to help online stores increase their sales, get a better ROI with their marketing efforts, and improve customer relationships. A few of Omnisend features include marketing automation, segmentation, popup forms, reports, and funnels.
Omnisend Pros & Cons
- SMS marketing:Omnisend allows you to integrate SMS with your email automation or use it to send a one-off email campaign. With SMS automation, you can send order & shipping confirmations, discount offers, abandoned cart messages andbirthday wishes.
- Audience sync for ads: You can sell any product if you have the right audience. Omnisend makes this easy for you by syncing your contact segments into Facebook and Google.
- Seamless integration with eCommerce:You can integrate most of the popular eCommerce platforms with Omnisend includingShopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, and Yotpo, to name a few. Unfortunately, Omnisend does not allow for integration with Google Analytics and CRM
- Advanced segmentation:Since Omnisend’s primary focus is e-Commerce, its segmentation feature is built to help categorize your customers in the best way possible. You can segment your contacts by buying items, average order value, how long ago they made a purchase and different tags.
- NO RSS:Almost every e-Commerce store you come across will have a blog. It is one of the best ways to establish yourself as a brand and build trust with your audience. Without the RSS feature, you can't connect your blog directly to your email broadcasts. However, that shouldn't be a huge problem since you can always include a link to your latest blog posts in your next email campaign.
- Support can be slow:Omnisend offers 24/7 email and chat support, but I have come across a few reviews online saying they can be slow to get back to you on more technical questions. Sometimes it can even take up to a day.
Who is Omnisend Good for?
If you are an e-Commerce store- To benefit from Omnisend’s platform, you have to have an online store. The software will not work without one. Since it is niched explicitly towards online stores, you will build better relationships with your customers and successfully push more sales.
If you are looking for easy-to-use automation- Omnisend has made it easy with their pre-built automated workflows. You can send automated emails to convert subscribers into customers, re-engage customers who have abandoned carts, suggest similar products, build trustor re-engage with customers who haven't purchased in a while.
If you are looking for funnel reporting- When a customer purchases a product, they go through a sequence of steps before reaching the conversion phase. Omnisend tracks these steps and lets you know at what potential stage customers decided to drop out of the conversion funnel. This way, you can optimize your funnel for better conversions.

If you are looking for integration- Omnisend allows you to integrate with major e-Commerce platforms but doesn't offer many other integrations, which will only be a problem if you heavily rely on 3rd party software.
If you want high deliverability rates- Omnisend has an 85.1% deliverability rate which isn't bad but is still low for email marketing software. That can lead to your emails ending up in the spam folder and not in your customers' inboxes.
Omnisend Deliverability (Rated: 4/5)
Onmisend’s deliverability rate is slightly lower than is ideal for email marketing software, but they offer full reports on your deliverability and how to improve your campaigns going forward. I give them a score of 4.
You’ll get a full range of stats on the deliverability of your emails covering bounce rate, blocked mails and dead email addresses. It also provides annual reports on its deliverability rates that currently stand at around 98%, which is excellent.
You’ll also find how-to articles with advice on how you can improve your rates. Plus, you can schedule emails to be delivered across different times and in different time zones to help further improve deliverability.
Omnisend pricing (Rated: 5/5)
Omnisend offers a free version and Two plans, which allow you to choose the plan which best suits your marketing needs and budget. The features offered at the most basic plan still allow you to effectively create and manage your campaigns, and so Omnisend receives a score of 5.
Standard - $16 per month
Pro - Email + SMS plan which starts at $59/month for 500 contacts.
Omnisend has two paid plans to choose from, including standard and pro Email + SMS. Features included in the pro plan and not in the standard plan are Advanced Reporting, 24/7 Priority Support, and Customer Success Manager (from 27K contacts)
Omnisend does not offer refunds unless you have not used their software at all. You can pay $50 to freeze your account until the end of your billing cycleor you can cancel it directly from within your account. Your Omnisend account will automatically delete if you haven't logged in for the past six months or two days after closing your Shopify store.

Creating emails and campaigns
You’ll notice right away how easy it is to set up email campaigns with this platform. A lot of the process is automated and you get some interesting customization options to help get the most out of your emails.
Emails sent/opened and links clicked
Omnisend had some pretty comprehensive statistics including emails sent, open rates and click rates. You’ll even get more detailed metrics like unsubscribe rates and the average revenue generated by email to really pinpoint where the strengths and weaknesses are in your campaigns. For example, if you’ve noticed an uptick in unsubscribe rates, you might want to revisit your template.
Creating and importing email lists
You can easily create email lists based on any topic and the type of market segmentation you’d like, or you can import existing email lists quickly into Omnisend using multiple different file formats.
Split tests and A/B testing
The platform offers full A/B testing, allowing you to see which campaigns are working and which aren’t. You can easily split your audience, try different email formats in the same campaign and try out different messages and links to see which ones are working the best.
Omnisend has a great customization tool that lets you add images, logos and personalized messages to your newsletters and emails. You can even add automated product recommendations to your messages, offering the most relevant products to your subscribers.

The analysis offered would assist you in improving conversion rates, and is substantial enough to learn from your campaigns, which earns them a score of 4.
The platform has some of the most detailed reporting and engagement tools we’ve seen across any email marketing product. On top of open rate and click rate tracking, you’ll also be able to see what products people are clicking on as a result of your marketing campaign, which items get added or removed from carts and overall conversion rates. You can even break down reports to the individual customer level to spot trends and behaviors that can help shape future campaigns.
You won’t find heat map data on your dashboard but you can integrate Google Analytics into your software. This way you can see which countries, cities, and regions are engaging the most with your campaign.
Campaign comparison report
You can’t compare campaigns directly, but each individual campaign has a set of detailed reporting options making them easy for downloading and comparing yourself.
The software has some pretty powerful segmentation tools. If you’re new to segmented campaigns, you can let Omnisend guide you by suggesting the most effective categories or you can set up your own segments to target groups like inactive subscribers, new sign-ups, those who’ve purchased a specific product and much more.
Social media tracking
You can link up the platform with your social media accounts and launch campaigns via platforms like Facebook. You can even segment your audience based on those who interact with you on social media.

The integrations offered are limited to apps and e-commerce marketplaces. However, this would only prove to be a hurdle to your marketing efforts if you are relying on third-party software. Omnisend has you covered for your email marketing efforts, and earns a perfect score.
Integrations with apps and e-Commerce marketplaces are a vital component of any email marketing tool and it’s good to see that Omnisend has you well covered.
Link up your dashboard with Google Analytics to find out in which markets your email campaigns are having the most effect, and which areas they’re struggling. Use this data to redirect efforts where needed.
An API is essentially a set of functions that lets one platform integrate with another for easy transfer of data. Omnisend allows this type of integration with just about every type of e-Commerce platform you can think of, including Magento, WooCommerce, and OpenCart.
Omnisend offers single-click integrations to dozens of e-Commerce platforms like Shopify and Volusion. These integrations open up new reporting options and collect statistics directly from your online store. You can also connect as many stores as you like to the platform.
The software only offers integration with two CRM platforms. However, you can sign up to a third-party software provider like Zapier, and download different CRM integrations. This will cost you extra, though.
Social media integrations
It’s easy to integrate all of your social media accounts into the software and start tracking statistics.
The platform doesn’t have a huge range of apps, but you’ll find some useful ones like the addition of rewards programs and competitions to your campaigns, shipping apps that let you send personalized messages and subscription selling as part of your emails.

Omnisend lets you set up multiple automated marketing channels. This includes running simultaneous email campaigns and targeted SMS messages. You can set up how many emails you want to send and how often, as well as personalize messages for each segment you’ve targeted. This can all be set up and automated at the start of your campaign using the user-friendly automation tool.
Design and ease of use (Rated: 4/5)
Omnisend is built to be user friendly and offers support on any features you might struggle with, which earns them a score of 4.
The interface is clean, modern and has an easy learning curve. Most features are clearly explained via the dashboard and if there’s anything you don’t understand, there’s usually a blog or how-to article explaining how to use the feature.
Drag and drop interface
The drag and drop editor offers a lot of customization options. You’ll start out by picking one of the few dozen templates on offer before being allowed to fully customize your email or newsletter including fonts, logos, and images.
Landing page creator
The platform has a built-in landing page generator and you’re able to generate a separate landing page for each campaign.
You’ll have a few dozen templates to choose from, but each one is fully customizable, so you can tweak until it’s perfect.

Omnisend earns a 5 for their support, which is extensive. They are readily available at all times and offer hundreds of blogs to answer any questions you might have.
All paid plans will have access to 24/7 live chat and email support, while those on Pro and Custom plans will be given priority support. The website also has hundreds of blogs and how-to articles available that explain how to get the most out of all of its features.

Mailerlite: With this email marketing software, you can integrate popular platforms like Shopify and WordPress. You don't have to have an eCommerce store for Mailerlite to work. This software is best recommended for small business owners who don’t have a large budget. Even though Mailerlite is one of the more affordable platforms, you will still get advanced email marketing software.
GetResponse: This software is excellent if you are a small business or have an online store. It offers advanced automation and CRM to help manage the relationships with your customers. A great feature that GetResponse offers is a conversion funnel which can help push your audience from a cold lead to a paying customer.
ActiveCampaign: If you are looking for an email marketing software with the most advanced features on the market and you have a large marketing budget, this software is for you. ActiveCampaign offers features including advanced automation, segmentation, A/B testing, CRM, and great reporting.
Omnisend is an excellent tool for medium-sized businesses. It has a rich set of features and gives you a lot of control over your campaigns which is key at this stage of development. You’ll even be able to run multiple campaigns at the same time, targeting different segments of your market at once. The level of analysis you get from the reporting will help those looking to drive sales and it promises increased conversion rates for customers.
However, all plans are limited to 500 emails per month, and you’ll need a potentially expensive custom plan if your business is going to expand further. In addition, its Pro package is a little costly for the features it offers
